‘2009 CIGRE SC B2 Korea Meeting’ and ‘765 kV Technology Colloquium’ was held at Seoul, capital of Korea, and Gyeongju, an old cultural city October 18 to 24.

CIGRE SC B2 Working Group and Administrative meetings was held in Seoul for the first 3 days. And The B2 Technical meeting and 765kV Technology Colloquium was held in Gyeongju for the other 2 days.

The presenters introduced KEPCO’s 765kV transmission technologies and also transmission systems above 700kV of several other countries including Brazil (FURNAS), South Africa (ESKOM), Canada (Hydro-Quebec), USA (AEP, NYPA), China (NWPN) and Russia at the colloquium.

The Study Committee Technical meeting was held before the colloquium on October 22nd in the same place. Finally, participants made three technical visits to 765kV Sinanseong substation, Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd and Gochang Power Testing Center for other 2 days.
